Market engagement Survey: Mediation and Disagreement Resolution Service

Cheshire East Council would like to hear from parents, carers and young people about their awareness and experiences of the SEND Mediation and Disagreement Resolution Service (MDRS).

The MDRS is an independent service that helps families, young people, education providers, and the local authority resolve disagreements relating to Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Mediation aims to find solutions through discussion and collaboration, helping everyone work together in the best interests of children and young people.

The feedback you provide will help us understand how well the service is working and identify ways to improve it in the future.

Crisis and Resilience Fund Engagement Survey

The Government has provided funding to local councils through the Crisis and Resilience Fund (April 2026 to March 2029) to support people facing financial difficulties and help them build long-term financial resilience. Cheshire East Council is working with local organisations and community groups to improve access to support, ensuring residents can get help quickly and connect with services that improve financial security.

We’d like your views on the types of support that would make the biggest difference across Cheshire East. Your feedback will help shape future services and ensure funding is used where it has the greatest impact.

Housing Allocations Policy Consultation 2026

Cheshire East Council’s Housing Service is reviewing the Housing Allocations Policy (also known as the Cheshire Homechoice Common Allocations Policy), which sets out how social housing is allocated in Cheshire East.

Social housing is in very high demand in the borough, so it is important that homes are allocated fairly and to those most in need.

We are proposing a small number of updates to the policy and are now asking for your views.

Scoping consultation for the new local plan

A local plan sets out how an area will grow and develop over the coming years. It helps shape where new homes, jobs, schools, transport links, green spaces and community facilities should be located.

We have started the process of preparing a new local plan for Cheshire East and we’re seeking your views on what it should contain, and how future consultation should be carried out.

Your feedback will help us to identify important matters to be considered in the new plan.
