Disruption to bin collections
We are currently facing a number of challenges which are placing increasing pressure on our ability to complete some collection rounds, and to return to collect bins that have been missed or that have not been collected as scheduled due to access issues. Residents who have ordered new or replacement bins may also currently experience a wait of around six weeks for these to be delivered.
These challenges are due to the impact of a national shortage of HGV drivers and factors including covid-related staff sickness and self-isolation, and a large increase in the amount of waste produced by households during lockdown.
Until the situation eases, there may be further disruption, and we apologise for any inconvenience caused to residents. Our teams are working extremely hard to maintain our full waste collection services and are prioritising black bin collections. More information can be found on the pages below.
