Booking your ceremony

There are over 70 approved premises in Cheshire East licensed to hold civil marriages including: hotels, stately homes, restaurants and even a castle. See the ceremony venues page for more details.

A Cheshire East ceremony at an approved premise can be booked up to three years in advance of the ceremony date. We love to chat, so please call the team on 01270 375140 option 2 or email ceremonysupport@cheshireeast.gov.uk

At the time of booking you will pay an administration fee, the amount of which is deducted from the final fee for your booking. See the marriage fees page for more details.

Marriages at approved premises are available every day of the week (including bank holidays) between 0.00am and 6.00pm. (Subject to availability)

Cheshire East has two attractive statutory ceremony rooms, one in The Register Office, Municipal Buildings, Crewe and the Macclesfield Room, Macclesfield Town Hall Extension.

The statutory ceremony rooms offer a basic legal ceremony where the statutory declarations are made and (if you wish) rings can be exchanged. These rooms will accommodate the couple and their two witnesses only. It is not possible to add enhancements to the statutory ceremony rooms or the Mayor’s Parlour.

There are also several larger ceremony rooms at the Municipal Buildings and Macclesfield Town Hall that can be booked for ceremonies.

You can make a booking to have a civil ceremony at the Municipal Buildings, Crewe and Macclesfield Town Hall up to one year in advance, information and available dates can be found on the ceremony availability calendar for Crewe and Macclesfield.

The Ceremony Team will tell you about giving your legal notice of intent.

A religious ceremony may take place at a church or chapel of the Church of England or Church in Wales or in any other place of worship formally registered for marriages by the Registrar General.
