16-19 Bus Saver

The 16-19 Bus Saver is a discount scheme for young people aged 16 to 19 who live in Cheshire East. With the pass, you can travel for just £1 per single journey across all bus services, as long as your journey is within, starts, or ends in Cheshire East.

The 16-19 Bus Saver is part of a 2-year trial led by the Cheshire East Bus Partnership, supported by the Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP) and funded by the Department for Transport.

How to apply

If you have access to the internet, an email address and you are able to take photos and upload documents, you can apply via the My Bus Pass portal. There is no charge to apply for or receive the 16-19 Bus Saver. Once approved, your pass will be sent to you free of charge and allows you to travel for just £1 per single bus journey within Cheshire East.

What you need to supply

For proof of identity and age, you will need to supply one of the following:

  • a valid provisional/full driving licence photocard
  • a valid passport
  • a birth certificate

To complete your application:

  • a clear 'head and shoulders' photograph of yourself that can be used on your bus saver. You can wear your glasses on the photograph as long as there is no glare
  • your email address

What happens next

You should receive your bus pass within 10 working days of making your application.
