Support for residents impacted by the coronavirus pandemic
We're offering residents whose employment or income has been adversely impacted by the coronavirus pandemic the opportunity to delay payment of Council Tax. There are 3 options available;
- Delay your Council Tax payments to start in June and continue each month until February
- Delay your Council Tax payments to start in June and continue each month until March
- Delay your Council Tax payments to start in July and continue each month until March

COVID-19 Hardship Fund
As part of the Government’s response to the Covid-19 crisis, Councils have been given a Hardship Fund to pay each working age Council Tax Payer receiving Council Tax Support (CTS) up to £150. We are looking to support residents who are experiencing financial difficulties. You should check your eligibility for Benefits by visiting gov.uk/benefits, cheshireeast.gov.uk/benefits or contact the Council Tax team if you are unable to pay your bill.
The Cheshire East Emergency Assistance scheme is a safety net for people in crisis. This is a non-cash scheme, but we can help in other ways.
Council Tax Court Hearing - 26 March 2020
The court has adjourned all cases to a new hearing on 25 June 2020. A letter will be issued to you to confirm the new hearing date.
