The Government has announced a £100 Household Energy Payment to help eligible households with rising energy costs.
Households in Council Tax Bands A to D may qualify for the payment, subject to the final eligibility criteria being confirmed by the Government.
Payments are expected to begin from January 2027 at the earliest. If you pay your Council Tax by Direct Debit, the payment will be made automatically using the bank details we hold on your Council Tax account.
If you do not pay by Direct Debit, further information will be provided once payment arrangements have been confirmed. In the meantime, you may wish to set up a Direct Debit for your Council Tax payments. You can do this by following this link: Paying your Council Tax
The Government has also announced additional funding for councils to provide discretionary support to households that may not qualify for the main payment. Further details will be published when they become available.
Please do not contact the Council about this scheme at this time. We cannot make any payments before January 2027 at the earliest and are awaiting further guidance from the Government.
This page will be updated as soon as more information becomes available.
