Mayor of Cheshire East - Councillor Dorothy Flude Mayor and Consort 2013

Councillor Dorothy Flude was appointed to the Office of Mayor on 15th May 2013.

She was Deputy Mayor from 16th May 2012 until 15th May 2013.

Cllr Dorothy Flude was born and educated in Crewe.  She has two sons and three grandchildren.  Both of her sons were born in Cyprus and she has also lived in Germany.

Dorothy worked for Cheshire County Council Social Services.  After retirement Dorothy was elected to Cheshire County Council in 2005 representing Crewe South where she lives. At the reorganisation of Cheshire in 2009 Dorothy was elected to Cheshire East Borough Council, once again representing Crewe South with her special interests being Child Care, Adult Social Care and Education. 

Dorothy is Chair of Governors at Pebble Brook Primary School, a Governor at Westminster Street Nursery School and a Member of the Schools Forum.

Her personal interests are Local and Family History, the First World War, overseas travel, visiting places of interest, sewing and baking for her family.

As Mayor of Cheshire East 2013/14 her charities are NSPCC Rainbow House and Blind Veterans UK [St Dunstan's].
