Licensing

Licensing plays an important role in the prevention of crime, disorder and public nuisance. It has a role in preventing unfair trading and safeguarding local businesses and community groups. It gives you the chance to have a say and be more involved in your community.

How we will contact you

The Licensing Team have set procedures for making contact with members of the public:

  • By telephone  – If you contact us by telephone we will try to respond within 5 working days
  • By email or letter – If you contact us by email or letter we will try to respond within 10 working days

There will be times of peak demand or complex queries when we may not be able to meet these timescales. In these circumstances we will respond as soon as we can.

We are mindful of our impact on the environment so we avoid contact by post. We will use email addresses and telephone numbers to contact you. You should check any spam/junk mail setting in your email accounts to take this into consideration.

The Licensing Team always issue licences or replacement licences through the post.
