Local Plan Strategy 2010-2030

The LPS  sets out the overall vision and planning strategy for development in the borough and contains planning policies to ensure that new development addresses the economic, environmental and social needs of the area. It also identifies strategic sites and strategic locations that will accommodate most of the new development needed. An interactive adopted policies map is also available, which shows the spatial policies of the LPS alongside the saved policies from the Congleton Local Plan, Crewe and Nantwich Local Plan, Macclesfield Local Plan, Cheshire Waste Plan and Cheshire Minerals Plan.

The  LPS was adopted on 27 July 2017.

Further information

In addition to the Local Plan Strategy policies, a number of Saved Policies from the Congleton Local Plan, Crewe and Nantwich Local Plan, Macclesfield Local Plan, Cheshire Waste Plan and Cheshire Minerals Plan will continue to be used until the Site Allocations and Development Policies document and the Minerals and Waste Development Plan Document have been adopted.

The planning policy documents index page lists all those documents making up the statutory development plan.

Examination

Although the examination has now ended, documents in the Local Plan Strategy examination library are still available for reference, alongside the inspector's final report:
