Cheshire East local area SEND inspection
Following a week-long inspection (12 to 16 March 2018) of services for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission sent an outcome letter to Cheshire East. This set out a requirement for the local area to produce and submit a Written Statement of Action (WSoA) to Ofsted.
A letter from the 0-25 SEND Partnership (PDF, 176KB) for parents and carers of children and young people with SEND set out our response to the inspection report and our plans for the WSoA .
Work has taken place across the 0-25 SEND Partnership to produce this WSoA , involving engagement with key stakeholders, including parent/carers and young people. Our Written Statement of Action was deemed to be fit for purpose by Ofsted on 23rd October 2018, and the 0-25 SEND Partnership are now working to implement and deliver our WSoA .
As a result of the local area SEND Inspection that was carried out by Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in Cheshire East in March 2018, Cheshire East is expecting a SEND re-visit anytime between now and April 2020.
A number of short guides are available to explain what the SEND re-visit involves and what to expect. The guides are available for children and young people, parents and carers and professionals. These guides are available below:
We are currently gathering feedback on our services from a range of stakeholders. This includes a telephone questionnaire to parent carers who have recently been through the education, health and care plan process.
