Cheshire East local area SEND inspection

Following an inspection of services across Cheshire East for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), we have received the outcome letter from government inspectors.

The week-long inspection (12 to 16 March 2018) from Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission came as a result of new government legislation, which requires local authorities and health partners to reform the way they support and identify children with SEND .

As part of this process, inspectors attended 60 focus groups, which included contributions from more than 200 staff and 130 parents and carers.

Work is underway across the 0-25 SEND Partnership to produce our Written Statement of Action. This has involved engagement with key stakeholders, including parent/carers and young people. The final Written Statement of Action will be signed off by the Health and Wellbeing Board on 24 July 2018 before being submitted to Ofsted by 15th August 2018. The final Written Statement of Action will be published on this page following approval by Ofsted.
