Town and parish councils (local councils)

Local councils play an important role in local government. They provide services, support communities, and represent local people. Each council has different responsibilities depending on its size and the needs of its area.

In Cheshire East there are:

  • 12 town councils
  • 90 parish or community councils
  • 4 parish meetings
