There are 106 civil parish, town or community councils in Cheshire East. Some councils are split into wards.
All parish council seats are open for election. Where the number of seats exceeded the number of people standing for election to the parish council, the existing parish council could choose to appoint the candidates without an election.
An election is held if the number of candidates is greater than the number of seats on the council.
There are no elections for parish meetings.
