Proposed resource provision at Broken Cross Primary Academy and Nursery
As part of their ongoing sufficiency planning for children with special educational needs, Cheshire East have identified that there is a need within the Macclesfield area to provide places in resource provision for children with a primary need of speech, language and communication needs (SLCN).
There is a growing need across Cheshire East for more specialist places and as a result some children are being educated in schools outside of Cheshire East, meaning that children are spending significant amounts of time travelling to and from school at a significant cost to the council.
Broken Cross Primary Academy and Nursery is part of the Halliard Trust and is seeking to support the council in meeting its statutory duty to provide school places by proposing the inclusion of a resource provision for pupils with speech, language and communication needs. If agreed, the resource provision would provide 7 places across year groups Reception, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
