2022 Annual Governors' Conference - Friday 14 October 2022

Our first conference since 2019 was an ideal opportunity for delegates to get together and share governance experiences and good practice.

Alongside an LA update from Jack Forster, Director of Education and 14-19 skills, there was a keynote speech by Victoria Franklin, an Education Consultant with a specialist focus on attendance management and improvement. Victoria presented on 'the challenges facing both trusts and governing bodies regarding pupil attendance', informed by new Government Guidance 'Working together to improve school attendance.’

In the afternoon, there was a variety of panels and workshops for governors to attend on relevant topics including the implications of the Education White Paper (with Jeff Marshall (J&G Marshall Ltd), making your school more sustainable (lead by the NGA), an Ofsted update, utilising Pupil Voice and conducting governor visits.

Presentations from the conference are available on the Governor Hub Resources area or by emailing the School Governance Team.
