Learning Disability Transformation – Self-Advocates and Carers meeting 23rd April 2026 Council Chamber, First Floor, Macclesfield Town Hall
The Learning Disability Transformation – Self Advocates and Carers event was held on 23 April 2026 at Macclesfield Town Hall. The event provided an opportunity to share information, gather views and promote discussion about learning disability transformation within Cheshire East.
The event was attended by people who use services, including individuals accessing supported living and day services, alongside parent carers, staff from provider organisations and elected members. This ensured a wide range of lived experience and professional perspectives were represented throughout the discussions.
The agenda included an overview of Learning Disability Transformation and what it means to people, feedback from recent reviews, and a presentation on Care Cubed. Attendees were encouraged to share their views, ask questions and engage in open discussion to help shape future work.
The event was organised by Cheshire East Council Adult Social Care staff, working in partnership with the Learning Disability Transformation Team. Overall, the session supported engagement, transparency and collaboration, helping to ensure that the voices of people with lived experience and their carers continue to inform service development and transformation plans.
