Bringing the Solihull Approach to families and professionals

In September 2024 Cheshire East Best Start Family Hubs sponsored a multi-user licence to the Solihull Approach to learning. This sponsorship forms the basis of our online offer to parents and carers and provides trauma informed educational opportunities to support childhood development.

Learning pathways are available to all Cheshire East residents as well as those living out of area who care for a Cheshire East child under a legal order.

Once registered, residents have lifetime access to the learning pathways featured in the Cheshire East sponsor area. These include:

  • Understanding pregnancy, labour and birth
  • Understanding your baby
  • Childhood development
  • Neurodiversity and childhood feeling
  • Understanding the teenage brain.

Rebrand

In November 2025, the Solihull Approach launched a rebranded offer which is known as ‘Togetherness’.

How professionals can use this resource

By promoting Togetherness to the families you work with, you are empowering them to learn new and effective ways of managing childhood behaviours and to understand their child’s emotional health as well as their physical development. The Togetherness website uses Google Translate to provide accessible resources in 108 different languages and all pathways are divided into short, manageable units. Signposting at scheduled appointments, drop-in sessions, via newsletter and text message service are all ways you can share this resource with your families.

How parents and carers can access the resources

All pathways are available at Cheshire East Togetherness.

Our Cheshire East Togetherness postcards contain a QR code which directs users to this area of the Togetherness website.

For more information regarding the licence for families you can email familyhubs@cheshireeast.gov.uk
