Business Rates scam
We have been made aware of a scam in which a ratepayer was tricked into handing over funds to a fake collection agency. They were made to believe they owed more than £700 in unpaid business rates.
You can check your Cheshire East account to find out if you owe money and how to pay it. Or you can contact the Council if you have doubts about a phone call demanding payment.
You can find more information on Business Rate scams from the Valuation Office or see our information about business rates and the recovery process.
