Welcome to our Junior Recycling Officer Resources Page. We aim to provide you with information and download resources which we hope will be useful to you in promoting the 3R's 'Reduce, Reuse and Recycle' in your school community and with family and friends.

Unfortunately we cannot operate the Junior Recycling Officer scheme in the way we usually do.  However, we do want you to continue with your Junior Recycling Officer scheme in school.  We hope this page will be a one-stop resource for everything you need for your Junior Recycling Officers to promote the 3R’s within your school.  Please make use of the resources below.

You may also wish to make use of the range of waste reduction videos on this link.  You can even create your own waste reduction video to share at your school assemblies!

Please ensure you continue to follow the Covid-19 guidelines set out within your school for any Junior Recycling Officer activities.

Please let us know if you are running any  JRO activities in your school. We might not be able to visit you in person but we can still work together to make a happier, healthier planet earth.  Please contact us as the email below.

We can also offer your school a virtual assembly, please get in touch to arrange this.

If you any questions about the Junior Recycling Officer scheme please contact teamrecycling@cheshireeast.gov.uk.

Where our recycling goes

The story of the little red chair

You can use the  little red chair video to teach your school about recycling. The Junior Recycling Officers can read from this  script (PDF, 145KB) while showing the video.

Assemblies

Junior Recycling Officers helped us create an assembly about recycling. You can write your own script and change it to suit your school.

Recycled crafts

Find out how to make gift boxes, wallets and bracelets from recycled materials using the instructions below.

Colouring-in posters

You could use these posters to run a colouring competition in your school.

Love Food Hate Waste

7 million tonnes of food is thrown away every year. You could print off these posters and display them in your school.
