Pre-budget consultation report

The council is to consult on the Pre-Budget Consultation Report 2019-2022

Schools Block Funding Formula 2019/20

The Schools Forum recommendation of retaining a local formula and achieving the minimum per pupil funding levels has been achieved.  The resulting schools funding list (MS Excel, 114KB) was agreed by Cabinet on 5 February 2019.

Schools block provisional modelling for 2019/20

The consultation for the 2019/20 formula closed on 26 November 2018.

Two briefing sessions have been held to help schools with completion of the consultation. Slides from the briefing sessions (PDF, 512KB)

Provisional formula models being reported to 4th October 2018 meeting (based on October 2017 pupil data)

• Model one – existing local model (MS Excel, 119KB)
• Model two – half way between local model and National Funding Formula (MS Excel, 117KB)
• Model three - National Funding Formula (MS Excel, 118KB)
• Per pupil funding summary (MS Excel, 44KB)

Schools block additional provisional modelling for 2019/20

To help the meeting on 6 December 2018 these are models where:

• Per pupil minimum funding levels are achieved
• Schools in receipt of funding to reach those levels are exempt from the minimum funding guarantee
• All premises costs are included in the minimum funding guarantee calculation
• There is higher scaling back
• Model one b local (MS Excel, 114KB)
• Model two b half way (MS Excel, 112KB)
• Model three b national (MS Excel, 113KB)

Schools block funding 2018/19

The results of applying the Cheshire East local formula to the updated pupil numbers and characteristics from October 2017.

These should be used by schools as the basis for their Schools Block funding for 2018/19. 

These figures were agreed by Cheshire East Cabinet on 6 February 2018.
