Education Welfare Service

How to translate this page.

The Education Welfare Service has a duty to promote good school attendance on behalf of the Local Authority. We work in partnership with parents, pupils, schools and other agencies to ensure the best possible school attendance for each child.

We provide extensive information on a wide range of educational welfare services to children, parents/carers and schools. This includes attendance and punctuality, children missing education and children missing out on education. We also supply information to parents and employers about legal implications of children being in employment as well as the licensing of employment of school pupils.
