Shopmobility services

There are number of shopmobility services that operate within the Cheshire East Borough. These services closed due to Covid-19/coronavirus but are now beginning to reopen and notify their customers.

Services have made changes to enable them to operate safely during the ongoing pandemic; contact the service you wish to use for the most up-to-date information.

The Crewe Shopmobility service will reopen on 3 August. We have made some changes in order to deliver the service safely. Members will receive a letter explaining these changes and how to use the service safely before they book again.

  • Members must not enter the Crewe Portakabin
  • Scooters will be cleaned before and after each use

We are waiting to hear from Nantwich and Congleton Shopmobility Services about when they will reopen and will update this information as soon as possible. We understand that wheelchairs and scooters may be available to use at larger supermarkets. The Macclesfield Shopmobility Service which is provided by the Disability Information Bureau (DIB) reopened on Monday 6 July offering a limited service. Members are advised to contact the DIB to check opening times.

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 virus pandemic and Government instructions for people to work from home and self-isolate, some of our services continue to be reduced or suspended.  We are sorry for the inconvenience this may cause and we look forward to reintroducing services as soon as it is safe to do so.
