Bollington - road marking reinstatement works
We will be carrying out essential road marking reinstatement works in the Bollington area.
What is happening
Road remarking resinstement works will commence on Sunday 1 March 2026 and will be carried out as follows:
Palmerston Street and Shrigley Road
Works will take place under a full road closure on:
- Sunday 1 March 2026
- Sunday 8 March 2026
- Sunday 22 March 2026
Other locations in Bollington
From Monday 2 March 2026, further road marking works will begin across other parts of Bollington. These will take around 10 days to complete and will be managed using rolling traffic management, including stop/go boards.
We understand that there is no right time to work in such a key location and this scheme has been carefully planned to minimise disruption.
Road closures and diversions
Under current Health and Safety legislation and for the safety of our workforce and members of the public. A suitable diversion route will be in place for the duration of the works (see map below).

We will make every effort to maintain vehicle access to properties and businesses, within the closure. However, due to the nature of the works there may be delays in access due to ongoing plant and machinery movements.
Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout. Cyclists will be asked to dismount and walk through the works, our Traffic Management Officers will be available to assist.
Bus services will continue during the closure, however, there may be some impact to the service. Bus companies are aware and may be operating a revised route - please check their website for more information regarding route/timetable changes.
Waste collection services will not be affected.
Emergency services have been notified of the diversion route prior to the works commencing.
