How we deliver social value through partnerships

Partnership working is a key opportunity to deliver social value that improves outcomes for people and places in Cheshire East.

Partnerships with voluntary, community and faith groups

We are working with voluntary, community and faith groups across the borough to gain insights into local needs and improve services for local people.

These partnerships are helping us use community assets to build safe and healthy communities with services in the right place at the right time.

If you would like to get involved, contact our community development team.

Join our Connected Communities Noticeboard to connect with Voluntary, Community and Faith groups, to deliver social value at a local level.

Public sector partnerships

We are improving our knowledge of local needs and joining up services by developing integrated approaches with other public sector organisations.

We are a member of the Cheshire East Partnership, an alliance working to improve the health and wellbeing of local residents.

Across the wider region, we are part of the Cheshire and Merseyside Health and Care Partnership. This is a collection of NHS, local authority, voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise organisations from across the 9 local authority areas that make up Cheshire and Merseyside.

We work collaboratively, developing strategies that improve public health, reduce health inequalities and ensure the health and care system across the region is sustainable.

The partnership's principles and priorities are set out in the Cheshire and Merseyside Social Value Charter.

We also collaborate with other public sector organisations through the Cheshire and Warrington Sub-Regional Leaders' Board. Board members include the elected leaders of Cheshire East, Cheshire West and Warrington councils, the Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner, the Chair of the Cheshire Fire Authority, the Chair of the Cheshire and Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership, senior regional NHS leaders, and representatives from the Home and Communities Agency and the Community Rehabilitation Company.

Collaboration with business and industry

We support local businesses to help protect them and to grow opportunities for local people whilst improving environmental impact.

Business support

As a core funding partner and Board member for the Cheshire and Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), we are active on many of the LEP committees. With the LEP , we have set up the Sustainable and Inclusive Growth Commission. The goal of the commission is to act as a catalyst towards a better future for the region post-Covid and to respond to the pressing challenges of climate change. Our Business Forum provides a monthly opportunity for local businesses to discuss key local issues with each other and with council and other public sector representatives.

For more information about how we support businesses, see Business growth and investment.

Employment opportunities

We also engage with employers to open up employment opportunities through programmes such as Welfare to Work and supported employment.

Connecting business and community

Our CheshireEastCrowd crowdfunding portal is a great way for local businesses to find and support community projects. And if you would like to find out more about local community needs your business may be able to help with, contact our community development team.
