Council asset ownership and management
The Estates Service manages land and property owned by the council. We publish details of all council‑owned land and buildings that meet the requirements of the Local Transparency Code 2015. This includes freehold and leasehold assets.

Our Asset Management Plan explains how we manage the council’s property over the next five years and beyond.
The AMP is a high‑level strategy. It supports the Council’s Corporate Plan and sits alongside the Capital Strategy. It sets out our main priorities and actions for council property.
Council land or property for sale or to let
When land or property is no longer needed, we usually sell it on the open market. This helps us achieve best value and allows anyone to make an offer.
Some land or property may be sold at a public auction.
