Using Artificial Intelligence at Cheshire East 

We are using Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies and solutions to improve how we work and our services.   

AI is used in many products, every day. By maximising the use of this technology at Cheshire East, we can transform ways of working across council services. This will meet the expectations of our residents by making it easier for them to access services and support people to get the answers they need through an enhanced online offering.

We’re committed to making sure that our services are accessible to everyone, and as with all aspects of data processing, using AI presents both opportunities and risks. It’s important that AI is used ethically and effectively.

Members of our corporate policy committee approved our Generative AI policy in March 2025. This policy helps to set out the guardrails for using the technology. It will ensure that our use of AI is ethical and complies with all applicable laws, regulations and council policies.
