Vacancy for the office of councillor for Wilmslow Lacey Green ward at Cheshire East Council

Cheshire East Council has given notice that, under the terms of the 1972 Local Government Act, a vacancy exists for the post of councillor for Wilmslow Lacey Green ward.

The vacancy follows the sudden death of the sitting borough councillor, Chris Hilliard, earlier this month. Their passing led to a heartfelt joint tribute from the leaders of the three main political parties in Cheshire East.

An election to fill the vacancy will be held if notice is given to the council, by two local electors for the area, requesting an election be held.
