One week left to help to shape the council’s future priorities

Cheshire East Council is encouraging as many residents as possible to help shape the authority’s future priorities and ambitions before the survey closes on Friday 15 December.

The council is developing a new strategic plan for the borough, which needs to be delivered as effectively and efficiently as possible, especially when there is less money available. Other reasons for the new plan include:

• The significant number of new elected members following the elections in May and a need to reflect post-election priorities;
• The changing context in which the council is now operating, with regards to the financial challenge caused by factors such as rising inflation;
• A greater need to focus council resources to meet increased service demands and costs, and;
• Advances in digital technology and artificial intelligence which the council needs to understand and use safely and securely to drive efficient service delivery. 

Cheshire East Council is seeking views to shape the activities and areas to prioritise into the future. The emerging priorities that the plan is seeking to develop are the need to reduce health inequalities and implement the outcomes of the recently updated health and wellbeing strategy, and to continue commitments to achieving net zero for both the council and for Cheshire East.

The council would like to thank everyone that has taken the time to have their say, either through the public drop-in events in Crewe and Macclesfield or by completing the online survey.
