More trees planted in honour of Cheshire East foster carers

13 March 2023

Ten more trees were planted today as part of a pledge to honour Cheshire East Council foster carers.

The council’s fostering service, working with Ansa and the Cheshire Wildlife Trust has set out to plant a tree for every foster carer household in Cheshire East.

Later this month, 120 more trees will be planted at South Park in Macclesfield, Wilbraham Woods in Alsager and a site between St Thomas More, Gainsborough Primary, The Oaks Academy, and Cheshire College South and West.

Council foster carers and members of staff attended the orchard planting today at Queens Park in Crewe.

With grant funding in place, this ongoing initiative launched at Sandbach Park during Foster Care Fortnight in May last year, will also help support the council’s green agenda and help towards meeting its carbon neutral targets.
