What happens after you apply

Once we receive your application, there is a consultation period to allow responsible authorities and other interested parties to review it and make representations.

Consultation period

Your application must be advertised and notices must be displayed for 28 consecutive days. During this time, responsible authorities and interested parties can submit representations about the application.

Application assessment

We will consider:

• your application
• any representations received
• the relevant licensing requirements

We may attach conditions to a premises licence depending on the circumstances of the application.

Licensing decision

If no valid representations are received, your application can usually be determined after the 28-day consultation period has ended.

After a licence is granted

A gambling premises licence can be transferred to another person, provided they hold a valid operating licence issued by the Gambling Commission.
