Rooted in the land

Bidlea Dairy is proudly family-run for over 40 years, with generations of knowledge shaping its approach to farming. The farm’s lush pastures provide the perfect environment for a thriving herd of cows, whose welfare and wellbeing sit at the centre of everything the business does.

Walking across the fields, it’s clear this is more than just a place of work - it’s a way of life. Care for the land, the animals, and the local community is evident in every aspect of the farm’s operation.

From just 20 cows originally to an almost 1000-strong herd, the reputation of their Bidlea Girls, the Holstein-Friesian cows has seen them win both National and European awards.

The Brown family have been dairy farmers for three generations, and they intend to be dairy farmers for many more years to come.

What sets Bidlea Dairy apart is its commitment to producing fresh, locally sourced milk with minimal food miles. By bottling milk directly on-site, the farm ensures that customers receive a product that is as fresh as possible, often just hours after it leaves the herd.

Their innovative approach includes convenient milk vending machines, allowing local residents to refill reusable bottles with fresh milk. This not only reduces packaging waste but also supports a more sustainable future, one refill at a time.

Sustainability at the core

Sustainability is a key priority at Bidlea Dairy. From reducing plastic usage through refill schemes to maintaining environmentally responsible farming practices, the business is actively contributing to a greener Cheshire East and helping to influence the Councils carbon reduction and green energy production priorities across the borough by 2045.

The team is constantly exploring new ways to minimise their environmental footprint, demonstrating that modern farming can be both productive and environmentally conscious.
