Civil Partnership Certificate Fees

One certificate is included in the cost of the registration. It is possible to obtain further copies at the time of registration for a fee of £11. 
 
Please make all Registration cheques payable to Cheshire East Borough Council. Please note: most of the services we provide are exempt from VAT, where VAT is applicable the VAT-inclusive charge is shown.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  If you have been living on your own and claiming Single Person Discount on Council Tax, and are now going to be living with your spouse, then please ensure you notify the relevant authority.

Administration Fee

Bookings can be made up to three years before the ceremony date. A non refundable administration fee of £150 is payable when the ceremony is booked into our diary.  A further non refundable fee will be payable 6 months before the date of the ceremony.  All administration fees will be deducted from the final ceremony fee.

Notice of Civil Partnership

Before you can register your civil partnership, both partners are required legally to give Notice of Civil Partnership. The Notice of Civil Partnership is valid for 12 months. As our diary is often very busy, it is important that the Notice of Civil Partnership is given as far in advance as possible. There is a charge for this of  £35.00 each.

Civil Partnership at the Register Office

The fee to be paid on the day is £50 and includes the cost of one civil partnership certificate. Speak to our Ceremonies Team on 01270 375140 to book your ceremony and discuss payment details.

Civil Partnership in the Silk Room and in the Mayor's Reception Room

Civil Partnership at Approved Premises

These fees include the cost of one civil partnership certificate. Fees must be paid to the Superintendent Registrar at least 4 weeks before the ceremony is due to take place.

Payment

You can pay by cheque or credit/debit card. Cheques are accepted no later than 6 weeks before the date of the ceremony and should be made payable to Cheshire East Borough Council and sent to The Register Office, Municipal Buildings, Earle Street, Crewe, CW1 2BJ. You can also phone our Ceremonies Office on 01270 375140 to pay by credit or debit card.

You can also pay for your ceremony online through our online payment service.

Extra Civil Partnership Certificates

It is possible to obtain further copies for a fee of £11 at the time of registration. Further certificates may be obtained subsequently at a cost of £11 per certificate. .
