Railcards and discounts

Cheshire East residents, from children to seniors, can save up to 1/3 off their rail tickets with a Railcard.

What is a Railcard?

A Railcard is a discount card that provides significant savings on eligible train tickets throughout the UK, offering an easy way to enjoy reduced fares.

There are nine types of Railcards available in the UK:

  • Network Railcard
  • 16-17 Saver
  • 16-25 Railcard
  • 26-30 Railcard
  • Family and Friends Railcard
  • Two Together Railcard
  • Senior Railcard
  • Disabled Persons Railcard
  • Veterans Railcard

When can I use a Railcard?

Most Railcards can be used for discounted fares during off-peak times, weekends, and public holidays. Some Railcards, such as those based on age, may also be used during peak times with a minimum fare. The Disabled Persons Railcard can be used at any time without restrictions.

How much is a Railcard?

Most Railcards cost £30 per year, except for the Disabled Persons Railcard, which costs £20 per year. Several Railcards also offer a three-year option for £70.
