Work experience can be an opportunity for you to get the real workplace experience and employment skills that can help secure a paid job in the future.
You can ask your school or college for more information on work experience opportunities, this is sometimes arranged within school/college time. Think about the type of career you might be intersted in, work experience can be a good opportunity to try some of your career ideas.
Your family or friends may know of businesses who can offer you work experience. You can contact businesses directly if there is somewhere that you would like to work. Make sure the business knows if you have any additional support needs so they are able to fully support you. You can share your vocational profile if you have one.
You can gain valuable work experience through volunteering and participating in community projects.
