Remember that you are not alone, many people are made redundant every single year.
There can be several different reasons for your employer’s decision; these may be cuts in costs, changes in priorities and roles or that the business is closing. Whatever the reason, it is how you go forward from this point that is most important.
You cannot be made redundant on account of your race, gender or age. This would come under ‘unfair dismissal’.
If you are made redundant you should be aware you are entitled to certain ‘rights’.
