NHS Visual impairment information

The NHS Visual impairment support pages offer advice, support and also related facts.

Coping with vision loss is a life changing event. Many will go through a grieving process before they come to terms with their condition. Once diagnosed with any progressive sight loss condition it is important to find out what support you are entitled to.

Most optometrists would advise sitting an eye test every two years and for those individuals under 16 years, aged 16 – 18 and in full time education and those over 60 you can receive an eye test for free on the NHS.
