You can call in with a Customer Service Desk (Blue Badge, Benefits, Railcards) enquiry, but there may be times when you will have to wait for a member of staff. Alternatively, you can make an appointment in advance to ensure staff are available.

Customers shopping at Booths are entitled to two hours of free parking in the store car park, accessed via Stanley Road. There is a walkway through to the library. There are two car parking spaces for disabled drivers near the rear of the library.

Springboard work hub

Springboard work hubs aim to help people access opportunities and achieve their goals. If you need help with your CV, job searches and more, we will be hosting pop-up work hubs on the following dates:

  • Wednesday 8 February at 9.30 - 11.00am by appointment only and 11.00 - 12.00 noon for drop-in sessions
  • Wednesday 8 March at 9.30 - 11.00am by appointment only and 11.00 - 12.00 noon for drop-in sessions

IT Buddy sessions

These are one-to-one taster sessions for beginners in IT. You can bring your own tablet or laptop, or used one of our fixed People’s Network computers for a maximum of three sessions with one of our IT-savvy volunteers. Sessions are free of charge, but they must be booked in advance and are subject to availability. Please get in touch with us for more information or to make a booking.

  • Baby Bounce - 11.00 - 11.30am - weekly (with the exception of the school summer holidays). Suitable for babies under 1 year. Free; no need to book
  • Children's Book Group - 3.45 - 4.30pm - monthly, on the first Monday of each month. Chat with others about your favourite books and characters. Suitable for ages 9-11 years. Free; juice and biscuits provided. No booking required
  • Current Affairs discussion group - 2.00 – 3.00pm - weekly. Put the world to rights, or simply catch up with the latest goings-on. All welcome. Free of charge; donations for tea/coffee welcomed.


  • LEGO Club - 3.30 - 4.30pm - monthly, on the last Tuesday of each month. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Free; no need to book, just drop in. Suitable for children aged 5 and over. Duplo available for smaller children
  • Rhymetime - 11.00 - 11.30am - weekly (with the exception of the school summer holidays). Suitable for pre-school children. Free; no need to book


  • Afternoon Tea Book Group (adults) - 2.15 - 3.15pm - monthly, on the first Thursday of each month. Pop along and join us as we discuss what we're currently reading. Refreshments available
  • Crafters - 2.30 - 3.30pm - adult craft club on the second and fourth Thursday of each month. Try something new at our friendly craft group. £1.00 per session; refreshments provided. Booking essential
  • Mindful Colouring (adults) - 2.15 - 3.15pm - on the second and fourth Thursday of each month
  • Thursday Murder Book Club - 3.30 - 4.30pm - monthly. Book club for lovers of crime fiction. Free; no need to book. Refreshments available. Contact the library for dates


  • Stories and Songs - 11.00 - 11.30am - weekly (with the exception of the school summer holidays). Stories, rhymes and activities for pre-school children and their grown-ups. Great for active toddlers – sitting is optional!  Free; no need to book in advance
