Ambulance and first aid information for event organisers
The event organisers need to minimise the effects of an event on the healthcare provision for the local population and, wherever possible, reduce its impact on the local NHS facilities and ambulance service.
Plan the welfare of the medical, ambulance, nursing and first-aid services along with the statutory services at any event which lasts more than four hours.
It is recognised that medical cover at events can be organised in different ways and that the most appropriate model will vary according to the medical provider and the nature of the event.
Full guidance on medical provision at events can be found in the HSE booklet The Event Safety Guide
Further advice can be found via a North West Ambulance Service representative as detailed in this document.
