Gnat Hole Bridge, Adlington Road, Bollington

Adlington Road, over Gnat Hole Bridge, Bollington remains closed for safety reasons due to damage sustained to the bridge.

The design process has been completed and the repairs can now take place and will start on 7 May 2024. The road will remain closed to all vehicles whilst the repairs are underway which are expected to take two weeks and then Electricity North West will install cables under temporary traffic signals.

Pedestrian and cycle access will be maintained.

Further information

  • The road closure is necessary to protect the safety of both members of the public and our workforce whilst we complete the repairs
  • Diversion routes are in place and signed to assist in the movement of traffic while works progress
  • Local businesses remain open and access will be facilitated where possible via diversion routes
  • Delays are expected and motorists should plan journeys accordingly
