A6 Buxton Road, Disley – Highway maintenance works
We will be carrying out gully cleansing works along A6 Buxton Road, Disley, between the junction of Buxton Old Road and Redhouse Lane. To minimise disruption and avoid repeat visits, we will also carry out additional planned maintenance within the closure times, including lining works, general signage maintenance and isolated carriageway repairs.
When it's happening
The work will take place from 27 January 2025, and will take approximately 5 days to complete between the hours of 09:30 to 14:30, weather dependant. Parking restrictions will be in place for the duration of the closure.
Key information
Under current Health & Safety legislation and for the safety of our workforce and members of the public, it will be necessary for a road closure to be in place at all times for the duration of the works. Please note:
- No waiting / parking cones will be in place prior to works commencing
- In the event of parked vehicles it may not be possible to schedule a return visit, until the next routine maintenance cycle. Please find alternative parking to avoid parking on Buxton Road
- Bus services will be maintained through the closure
- Refuse collection services will continue during the works
- Emergency vehicle access will be maintained
We understand there is no right time to undertake this work however, the work has been carefully planned to minimise any inconvenience to you and other road users. We occasionally have to change our works at short notice due to unforeseen circumstances such as adverse weather conditions or logistics.

- ‘Business open as usual’, ‘Road Closed Ahead/Diversion’ and ‘Cyclist dismount’ signs

Access to your property or business
We will make every effort to maintain vehicle access to your property or business. However, due to the nature of the works some inconvenience may still occur and there could be times when point of entry will vary. Please note, this letter does not grant you access through the road closure. If you have any specific access requirements, please raise these with our site supervisor as soon as possible. Your safety and the safety of our workforce is our priority. Our Traffic Management Officers will be supplied with CCTV cameras and they will assist you as the work progresses.
