VE Day (Victory in Europe Day) - 80th Anniversary Celebrations in Cheshire East

On 8 May 2025, the 80th anniversary of VE Day is marked. The nation will unite to celebrate 80 years of peace since the end of World War II in Europe. VE Day 80 is not only a tribute to those who fought for freedom but also a powerful reminder of the resilience and unity that have defined the country ever since.

Nationally, communities are encouraged to take part in celebrations, to gather in streets, gardens, town halls, clubs and pubs and to let this be a day of joy, reflection, and celebration.

VE Day is a significant occasion to honour the bravery and sacrifices of our armed forces. In November 2024, the Council's receipt of the Gold Armed Forces Covenant award was a testament to the unwavering support for our military community and demonstrates the Council’s commitment to those who serve and have served.

Join us in commemorating the 80th anniversary of VE Day with a series of special events across Cheshire East. Share your events and support using hashtags #CelebratingCheshireEastVEDay across your social media platforms!
