Project overview
Visyon is a free safe place for vulnerable children and their families across Cheshire. We support young people to talk openly about their mental health and help them develop practical strategies through individual counselling, group therapy, mentoring, and workshops. Children, young people and their families are taking the first brave step to ask Visyon for support with their mental health. They wish to build resilience to lead happy and fulfilling independent futures as young adults. Anxiety, low mood, anger, self-harm and thoughts of suicide are impacting on their day to day lives, relationships, behaviour and ability to achieve their potential. It can be caused by numerous factors - bereavement, abuse, illness, bullying, family issues or the effects of poverty. Visyon provides a free safe space for vulnerable children to access the information and support they need to talk openly about their mental health. Our Therapeutic Team empower young people, helping them develop practical strategies through individual counselling, mentoring, group activities and wellbeing workshops.
What support is needed
We attend various community events to raise awareness and funds for our charity. To attract people to us we run sweet treats tombolas and raffles and the following items will help us save on costs and be greatly appreciated. • Biscuits • Sweets • Chocolate • Unopened gifts • Alcohol • Baskets for hampers Our bases are used daily and are in need of a refresh to make sure it's a comfortable space for young people; neutral emulsions, grey/white gloss, rollers/brushes and soft furnishings are extremely helpful. Our funds are focused on providing the services and often our staff have to make do with office equipment, any items being rehomed due to office refits would be appreciated.
What difference would it make to our project?
The items will help us to raise funds to ensure our service remains free for the young people across Cheshire East. Making sure that the young people are comfortable and feel able to talk freely in our space is highly important.
