Sandbach School - Garden Project - Sowing the seeds of change

Project overview
Sowing the Seeds of Change - Inclusive Garden Project at Sandbach School Help us grow more than just plants - help us grow hope, healing, and opportunity. At Sandbach School, we're launching an urgent campaign to revitalise our school garden into a fully inclusive, therapeutic space that supports children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and those facing emotional or social challenges. We need your help to raise funds for our "Sowing the Seeds of Change" project.
What support is needed
Like many schools, we're facing growing pressures on budgets—and sadly, enriching, hands-on projects are often the first to go. Our garden, once a hub for outdoor learning, has fallen into disrepair. The polytunnel is severely damaged, and we lack the proper equipment to run year-round activities. Yet for many of our pupils, this garden is more than just a patch of green—it's a space for peace, growth, and discovery. What Your Donation Will Do: Repair and restore our polytunnel for all-weather growing Purchase greenhouse staging and a potting bench for hands-on horticultural learning ♿ Provide accessible garden furniture so all students, regardless of need, can take part Create a calm, therapeutic space to support mental health and emotional wellbeing We will also be arranging volunteer days, to get help with the basic ground preparation.
What difference would it make to our project?
For children with SEND and emotional or social difficulties, gardening is proven to:
Develop patience, responsibility, and focus
Offer a peaceful outlet to self-regulate during stressful times
Build confidence, independence, and real-world life skills
Encourage healthy lifestyles and environmental awareness
This isn't just about plants—it's about growing futures.
A Garden for the Whole Community - We want this space to blossom beyond the school gates:
- Seasonal open days & student-run garden markets
- Intergenerational skill-sharing with local volunteers
- A living classroom that nurtures environmental responsibility and community spirit
- Be Part of the Change
Every donation—no matter the size—brings us one step closer to giving these children a space where they can feel calm, capable, and connected.
Together, let's sow the seeds of change and create something beautiful that will grow for years to come.
