Former Royal Arcade redevelopment

Phase one of the major redevelopment of this site in Crewe town centre delivered a new modern bus station and multi-story car park. The bus station opened in May 2024, while the car park opened shortly after in July 2024. You can read more about the official opening of the bus station and multi-storey car park.

The council has recently commenced construction of a meanwhile green space (Phase 2) to make positive use of the site while longer‑term comprehensive redevelopment options are progressed (Phase 3).

The scheme will introduce soft landscaping, lighting, seating, and a new pedestrian route linking the bus station and multistorey car park with Victoria Street and Queensway.

This temporary arrangement will support local businesses and the wider community and is funded through the Government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
