Parks development programme
We are proud to have successfully developed a range of green spaces across the borough and are committed to continuing this great work with our park development team.
Quality and access to green spaces is important for residents across the borough. Green spaces can connect people to nature, offering a range of both physical and mental benefits. We are aiming to provide improved accessibility in our green spaces for all.
Recently completed projects
Derby Docks - Crewe
Little Lindow - Wilmslow
Windmill Street Pump Track - Macclesfield
Funding
The majority of parks development is funded by S106 funds. These are funds which developers, through negotiation with our planning teams, pay the council to improve nearby green spaces.
S106 funds are not always available and do not always cover the aspirations for a particular site. In these situations, town or parish council funding is sometimes used to supplement Cheshire East Council funding. External grants is another source of funding which can also be secured.
