Children's social care: practical support

Excellent work life balance

We want our staff to have fulfilling lives outside of the workplace. Our supportive culture and well-being offer for staff helps this become reality. We have a flexible working policy which gives you options to define your working arrangements to best support your lifestyle within business requirements for example:

Practical Support 900x400
  • purchasing additional leave
  • taking longer periods of time off
  • or simply managing when and how you work your hours

Expenses

Employees get reimbursement of reasonable expenses incurred in making business journeys in accordance with the business mileage and expenses policy.

We contribute towards your annual Social Work England registration fee.

Mobile working

Cheshire East Council is a largely rural unitary authority and workers ideally need access to a car to travel around the area.

We operate a modern and flexible working environment with hot-desk areas in some offices. Where needed, laptops are available to help staff to work from a variety of locations.

Parking and transport

Parking permits are available for town centre car parks and available to staff who regularly use their vehicle.

Staff have access to pool cars, and there are charging points for electric cars in close to our main buildings.
