Mitigation and Complementary Measures

For the local road network, a package of mitigation and complementary measures has been proposed to address the predicted change in traffic flow following completion of the Poynton Relief Road scheme.

The measures aim to reduce the scheme’s impact on local communities where there are predicted to be traffic increases. Some of the measures also seek to:

  • encourage walking, cycling and horse riding
  • improve safety
  • promote Poynton Relief Road as a key strategic route
