Results day success for A-level students across Cheshire East
14 August 2025
Students across Cheshire East are celebrating some outstanding A-level results, with a provisional pass rate of 98 per cent, which is above the national average of 97.5 per cent.
Results released on Thursday morning (14 August) showed 23.7 per cent achieving grades A* to A, and 49.3 per cent achieving an A* to B grade.
These results are reflective of years of hard work from students across the borough, during not only the exam period but across assignments and coursework leading up to the penultimate weeks.
As a corporate parent the council is delighted to see some fantastic results from this cohort of young people, with many securing university or further education places of their choice. It is testament to the care and support around the students, that they are now equipped to undertake further studies or apprenticeships.
Cou
ncillor Laura Crane, chair of Cheshire East’s children and families committee, said: “We are delighted to see such wonderful A-level results from across the borough – it’s great to see consistent strong levels of performance from our young people.
“These results demonstrate not only the hard work of students, but their families, our teachers, school and local authority support staff, who have worked tirelessly to help maintain high standards of education, while supporting the mental wellbeing of students.
“This collective effort means many will now be proceeding to follow their ambitions to either join their university of choice and follow their career goals, or by taking their first steps into the workplace or starting an apprenticeship.
“I am really proud of our students’ achievements and wish them the best of luck for the future.
“Now is the time to take a well-earned break, celebrate the remainder of the summer and to rejoice with their achievements with family and friends.”
Following results day young people and their families can access local mental health and wellbeing support on the Cheshire East Council website, or access useful guidance to help them to decide on next steps within their career on the jobs and skills section for residents.
