Digital Cheshire Supports Over 400 Businesses Through Specialist Digital Masterclasses
8 May 2026
Digital Cheshire has marked a major milestone, having supported more than 400 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across the region with specialist digital masterclasses.
Designed to help businesses embrace new technologies with confidence, the masterclass programme has brought together leading industry experts to share insight on the latest digital trends, tools, Artificial Intelligence ( AI ) and innovations shaping modern business growth.
From digital marketing and e-commerce to migrating to cloud solutions and driving AI adoption, each session has equipped business owners with practical knowledge to take their next step in an increasingly digital economy.
A key strength of the programme has been its collaborations with global technology leaders including Amazon Web Services, Google, and Microsoft. By collaborating and co‑delivering events with these major industry players, Digital Cheshire has given local businesses access to cutting edge expertise, best practice AI adoption and thought leadership to help inspire their digital transformation journey.
Over the two-year period, the masterclass series has educated businesses by providing up‑to‑date insight into emerging technologies and digital developments, while informing SME leaders about the tools, techniques, and trends that can enhance efficiency and improve competitiveness through practical implementation.
Councillor Mick Warren, chair of Cheshire East Council’s economy and growth committee, said: “Supporting local businesses to navigate the digital world is essential. This programme builds confidence among SME by offering practical, tailored guidance that helps them make informed decisions, overcome barriers and take meaningful steps in their digital journey.
“By improving connectivity and digital skills, it enables businesses to grow, innovate and reach new markets.”
Feedback from participants consistently highlights the value of the programme in helping business owners overcome digital barriers, explore new market opportunities, and build long-term resilience in a fast-changing landscape.
Wayne Bagnall MBE, who runs a Cheshire based specialist asbestos and demolition consultancy and training company and has attended several of Digital Cheshire’s masterclasses, said: “Thanks to these classes, I’m much more confident using Search Engine Optimisation ( SEO ) and social media to generate customer enquiries and build awareness of my company and what we do.
“AI is undoubtedly changing how people do business. Thanks to the Microsoft masterclass, I know how to use AI to perform tasks like producing complex reports. It frees up time to concentrate on being strategic, helping my business innovate further. It’s not just about learning new skills.
“The masterclasses have been a great way of getting to know other business owners like myself and cementing myself in the Cheshire business network. I look forward to the future sessions.”
The completion of more than 400 business engagements reinforces Digital Cheshire’s role as a key driver of digital growth across the region, supporting the ambitions of local authorities, political leaders, and business communities to build a stronger, more digitally capable regional economy.
