Cheshire Green and Unette showcase best of business in Cheshire East

Cheshire East Council visited Cheshire Green Industrial Park near Nantwich recently to celebrate investment, job creation and business growth at one of the borough's most significant employment sites.

The visit formed part of the council's ‘Made in Cheshire East’ campaign, which highlights businesses and organisations helping to drive economic growth across the borough. During the visit, council leaders met representatives from Cheshire Green Industrial Park and tenant business Unette, to learn more about their contribution to the local economy. 

Located on the site of the former RAF Calveley Airfield, Cheshire Green Industrial Park has transformed a historic brownfield site into a major hub for industrial, manufacturing, warehousing and logistics businesses. The development benefits from strong transport links across the North West and North Wales and has already attracted a diverse range of occupiers. 

When complete, the park could provide up to 1.35 million square feet of employment space and has already contributed to the creation of around 300 jobs.

Council leaders visited Unette, a family-owned advanced manufacturing business based within the park. With more than 50 years of experience, Unette specialises in liquid filling, contract packaging and sustainable packaging solutions, serving customers ranging from start-up businesses to internationally recognised brands. Unette has built a reputation for innovation through the design of its own specialist manufacturing equipment and the development of unique packaging formats, helping customers bring products to market efficiently and sustainably.

Unette has also invested significantly in its Nantwich headquarters and continues to expand its operations while supporting skilled jobs in engineering, manufacturing and product development. 

Councillor Nick Mannion, leader of Cheshire East Council, said: "Cheshire Green Industrial Park is a fantastic example of how investment in high-quality employment sites can help drive economic growth and create opportunities for local people and businesses.

"It was particularly encouraging to see innovative companies such as Unette thriving here, investing in advanced manufacturing, developing new technologies and creating skilled jobs. Together, they demonstrate the ambition, resilience and entrepreneurial spirit that exists across Cheshire East."
