Cheshire East students shine on A-level results day

Hundreds of students across Cheshire East are celebrating today as A-level results are published, marking an important milestone in their educational journey. 

Results released on Thursday morning (13 August) showed 23.4 per cent of entries were awarded grades A* to A, while 49.9 per cent achieved grades A* to B.  

These results reflect years of dedication, perseverance and hard work from young people across the borough. Students can now look forward to the next exciting chapter in their lives, whether that be university, degree apprenticeships, further training or entering the world of work. 

As a corporate parent, Cheshire East Council is particularly delighted to see our cared for young people achieving their ambitions and progressing towards bright futures, supported by the unwavering commitment of families, carers, teachers and support staff. 

Councillor Emma Gilman, cabinet member for education and SEND at Cheshire East Council, said: “It is wonderful to see our students achieving such fantastic A-Level results once again and I would like to congratulate every young person receiving their results today. 

“These achievements reflect not only the hard work, determination and resilience of our students, but also the encouragement and support of parents, carers, teachers and education professionals who have helped them every step of the way. 

“Today is a moment to celebrate everything they have accomplished and the opportunities that lie ahead. Whether students are heading to university, taking up an apprenticeship, pursuing further training or starting their careers, they should be incredibly proud of what they have achieved. 

"I also want to recognise those students who may not have received the results they were hoping for today. While it can be disappointing when things do not go as planned, it is important to remember that exam results do not define you, your potential or your future. There are still many pathways and opportunities available, and support is on hand to help you take the next step. 

“I wish all our students every success for the future and hope they take time to enjoy this well-deserved achievement. Whatever your results today, this is just one stage in your journey, and there are many exciting opportunities ahead.”
